Vacuum Wands & Cups

Maximize security by using vacuum to handle your delicate optical components. Use our vacuum wands and cups with your vacuum source or use our ROTOwand™ unit, available in compressed-air or electric versions, or our application-specific Lens Handler™ system. Our growing number of wand types are optimized for particular applications. Our wands feature interchangeable vacuum cups for virtually any size optic. The cups are made of non-damaging Delrin™. For applications where force will be applied to a part during a process, we can retrofit our vacuum cups with a rubber o-ring to increase friction.

Wand types

The pincette has a by-pass hole that is covered by the operator when the part is to be handled. Remove your finger to release the part. Best used for applications where the part is under vacuum for a short time. The tip is the same as the push-button wand.

The push-button wand normally applies vacuum to the tip until the operator presses the spring-loaded push-button. This wand eliminates accidental release of the part. The tip has a 1/4-20 internal thread (female) and a 1/2-20 external thread (male).

The straight rotating wand is used for applications where it is desired for the part to be rotated during the process. When working with small lenses, it is desirable to rotate when cleaning and edge painting. It is also desirable to rotate a lens when installing into a lens barrel to make sure it has properly seated. The tip comes with a 1/8NPT to Luer fitting. An adapter to 1/2-20 is available.

The 90 degree wand with rotating tip is available as an alternative to the straight wand when needing to reach in areas with close clearance. It is ideal for inspecting small lenses under a microscope. The tip is the same as the straight rotating wand.
